Mansfield, Texas: A woman was hit after falling out of a car

According to a news release, Mansfield officers responded to reports of a serious accident at approximately 1:14 a.m. in the 800 block of FM 917.

MANSFIELD, Texas – A 21-year-old woman was injured when she fell from her mother’s car into oncoming traffic, police said.

According to a Mansfield Police press release, officers responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 1:14 a.m. in the 800 block of FM 917.

The victim’s mother called to report the accident, police said. She stated that she was driving her intoxicated 21-year-old daughter home on FM 917 when her daughter fell out of the car and was possibly struck by at least one vehicle in the lane behind her, the news release said.

The mother said she turned the car around to look for her daughter before calling 911, police said.

Officers found the victim unconscious but breathing with serious injuries, the press release states. There were no other vehicles on the scene and the victim was transported by CareFlight to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.

The incident is currently being investigated, police said. No arrests were made at the scene.

As of 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, the victim’s condition was stable, police said.
