Sioux City police investigate shooting

SIOUX CITY – No one was injured when shots were fired at a home in north Sioux City Wednesday afternoon.

At 12:26 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 900 block of 14th Street.

According to Tom Gill of Community Policing, police and detectives are still at the scene. Gill said bullet casings were found, but no one was shot.

A Sioux City man was injured in a late night shooting in the northeast part of the city.

Sioux City police officers who arrived at the scene of a reported shooting had no reason to believe Austyn Self was intoxicated. Self is charged with first-degree murder and three counts of child endangerment for the shooting of Zoelle, who died from a gunshot to the abdomen. The shot was fired while she was on a 911 phone to report a domestic dispute.

Defense calls for hearing on murder suspect’s sanity

Rogers, 44, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, attempted murder, first-degree burglary and stalking. His trial is scheduled for Aug. 13 in Woodbury County District Court.
