Teenager and mother arrested after argument that led to fatal shooting

BATON ROUGE – A teenager and his mother were arrested after an argument led to a fatal shooting in early June.

The teenager was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of premeditated murder after allegedly shooting 22-year-old Sarantis Thomas on June 6. The shooting occurred at an apartment complex on Boulevard de Province.

The teenager’s mother, D’ana Broadway, was also arrested Tuesday on charges of aiding and abetting murder.

“My condolences go out first to the families of the victims, the suspects and everyone involved,” said Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse. “It’s just tragic when people choose to take this path of violence.”
