Vehicle accident on Lincoln Way West results in entrapment

On May 6, 2024 at 8:11 a.m., Squad 41 was dispatched to the 2600 block of Lincoln Way West following reports of a vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that a person was trapped in a vehicle that had collided with two telephone poles.

The force quickly stabilized the vehicle and used Holmatro hydraulic tools to remove one of the doors, successfully freeing the trapped patient. Following extraction, Squad 41 assisted EMS personnel in caring for and packing the patient.

To ensure the safety of emergency services and the public, the fire department at Station 4 regulated traffic around the scene of the accident.
