Shooting in Chicago: 39-year-old man shot on W. Division in Austin, police say

CHICAGO– On Friday, a man was shot dead in an Austin neighborhood.

Officers responding to a call about shots fired at about 9:50 p.m. in the area of ​​5800 West Division Street found the 39-year-old lying on the ground in an alley with a gun in his hand, Chicago police said.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and chest and died after being taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting were initially unknown, police said.

No arrests were reported.
