Stakeholders call on JRC to suspend new whipping rule at Caymanas Park | RJR News

The Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) is coming under increasing pressure to repeal the new whip rule at Caymanas Park amid a consensus among stakeholders that the rule’s implementation must be just and fair.

Radio Jamaica Sports has obtained a copy of a petition signed by several stakeholders and sent to JRC Director General Richard Longmore, calling for the suspension of the new whip rule, which came into effect on April 1, to allow for further discussion.

They say the current situation is a strain on riders and threatens to undermine the integrity of the sport. A meeting is planned for Thursday at the JRC.
