Deadly shooting in Monrovia under investigation – NBC Los Angeles

Homicide investigators investigated the shooting death of a man in Monrovia on Monday

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Monrovia police responded to the 700 block of Duarte Road at 9:23 p.m. to investigate reports of an adult male being shot.

Sheriff’s investigators said an altercation between several people occurred, resulting in the victim being shot in the upper body.

“The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived,” the LASD said in a statement.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No further immediate information was available.
