Two stab wounds, one dead in murder in Albany

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) — Two people were stabbed and one died Monday morning near Washington Avenue and Quail Street in Albany. Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., Mohawk Ambulance personnel alerted police that they had been stopped near Washington and Quail by someone who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, a 25-year-old man had a stab wound to his back, according to police.


Another person on scene alerted police to a 24-year-old man lying unconscious and unresponsive in the 400 block of Washington Avenue. Officers arrived to find the man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Both were taken to Albany Medical Center, where police say the 24-year-old victim died and the 25-year-old victim is in stable condition. Police say the two victims were involved in a physical altercation with another group.
