Caltrain will suspend all train service between San Francisco and San Jose over the weekend of June 8 and 9 to conduct tests of its new electric fleet.

Training for electrification

Caltrain will suspend all train service between San Francisco and San Jose over the weekend of June 8 and 9 to conduct tests of its new electric fleet.

A limited-capacity replacement bus service will stop at the San Jose Diridon, Palo Alto, and Millbrae stations. There will be no replacement bus or train service at other stations. Buses will have limited capacity for luggage and bicycles. Passengers may use the bike parking available at most stations. Buses are ADA accessible.

Caltrain says the electrified system, which is scheduled to begin operating in September, will allow for faster and more frequent service, including doubling frequency on weekends. The new trains will feature Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, onboard displays with digital travel information and increased storage capacities.
