Remembering Legacy Christian University student after motorcycle accident on May 21

His school remembered a second-grader who died in a motorcycle accident in Hardeeville on May 21.

Finn Cannon, 8, of Hardeeville, was a student at Legacy Christian Academy in Ridgeland, according to the school. Cannon died at the scene when his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer as he attempted to cross Highway 17 in Hardeeville, Jasper County Coroner Willie Aiken said.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the sudden and tragic loss of one of our second graders,” said a Facebook post from Legacy Christian Academy. “Finn Cannon had a big heart, a big smile, and was always ready for a big hug. He will be greatly missed. Please pray for the family during this time of loss.”

According to his obituary, Cannon enjoyed going to truck shows, being outdoors, playing gorilla tag, and building Legos. He also loved going to Universal Studios on vacation.

“Those who knew him knew that he was very loving, had the biggest heart and gave the best hugs,” the obituary said. “He was a loving little brother, son and grandson and also loved animals. Finn loved people and made friends easily.”
