Several shootings in Colombia leave three dead

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

Over the past week and a half, three people have been killed in a series of shootings in Colombia.

Charges were filed yesterday in connection with the recent fatal shooting on Rice Road and the shooting during an attempted carjacking in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Conley Road.

One of the most recent shootings occurred late Sunday night on Rice Road, where 18-year-old Trevon Ashcraft was killed. Columbia police arrested three adults and have taken two juveniles into custody.

Quanina Lakeitha Lambert, 34, and Jordan Jarodisiah Brantley, 18, both of Columbia, were charged with first-degree assault, second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Lambert and Brantley are being held in the Boone County Jail.

Shannon M. Glasgow, 33, of Columbia, was charged with tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice. Glasgow is accused of driving some of the attackers to and from the crime scene. Glasgow was jailed without bail on Tuesday.

While covering the shooting on Sunday night, one of ABC 17 News’ reporters heard several gunshots on Rice Road on Monday. ABC 17 News reporters saw two men running from the area after the shots were fired.

On Friday, 35-year-old Whitney Nevels-McKee was charged with 11 felonies, including second-degree kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of auto theft, following a shooting in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

McKee’s family said she suffers from schizophrenia. ABC 17 News spoke with McKee’s son, Chandelle Cadien Marteen, about her mental health.

Cadien Marteen said, “We have a month of mental health awareness and things like that, and yet there are so many people who are not in their right minds and things like that, so I think everyone should really look out for each other and try not to bring each other down.”

Mckee is being held without bail in the Boone County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

The two bodies found on Ridgemont Drive last week were identified Tuesday as those of Sara Fox and Marcia Hess, who were shot to death in their home. Randall Fox has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with their killings.
