Broomfield residents receive a test alert on Wednesday

DENVER (KDVR) – Attention Broomfield residents: A test with an emergency notification will be sent out on Wednesday.

On May 29, LookoutAlert will conduct a test of its emergency notification system. All landlines and residents registered for LookoutAlerts in Broomfield will receive the test alert via text message, email or phone.

But remember, this is just a test.

All residents are encouraged to sign up for alerts so they can be notified immediately of emergencies in their area.

According to LookoutAlert, emergency responders can send official real-time alerts with information about potentially life-saving actions they need to take to protect themselves and their families.

Previously, Broomfield used the CodeRED system. Anyone who was registered with that system is asked to go to LookoutAlert and update their information. Signing up is simple. Residents submit their information and create a user ID and password before being enrolled in the system.

While the city has not announced when the alerts will be sent out, residents should expect a test notification on Wednesday.
