Military Attorney General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi ordered the General Staff’s “investigation and assessment mechanism to investigate the attack carried out in Rafah” late Sunday, the military said in a statement.

It added that “a number of steps were taken prior to the attack to reduce the risk of harm to innocent civilians during the attack. These included conducting aerial surveillance, use of precision weapons by the IAF (Air Force) and additional intelligence.”
