RICHMOND, CA (May 24, 2024) – One person died in a pedestrian crash on the 580 Freeway near Harbour Way.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Thursday at around 1:25 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a car struck a pedestrian on Interstate 580 in Richmond. The pedestrian subsequently succumbed to his serious injuries.

Due to the accident, police closed the westbound lanes to investigate the accident, but officials did not release the cause of the accident or the name of the victim.
