Homicide investigation underway after person found dead on Indianapolis’ north side

INDIANAPOLIS – A homicide investigation is underway after a person was found dead on Indianapolis’ north side early Friday morning.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on May 24, IMPD officers searched the area of ​​North Meridian and East 16th Street for a reported person and found a woman unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, a department spokesman said.

“After the woman was examined at the scene by the deputy medical examiner, IMPD homicide detectives are now treating the case as a murder investigation,” the spokesman said.
