Five people were transported to the hospital for injury evaluation after a two-vehicle rollover accident near KHS | 1340 KGFW

KEARNEY – A two-vehicle accident resulting in a rollover occurred near Kearney High School early in the afternoon on Friday, May 17.

“The Kearney Police Department, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department and CHI Health Good Samaritan Emergency Medical Services responded to a vehicle rollover accident on the west side of KHS at 30th Avenue at 12:15 p.m. Fortunately, the accident did not result in life-threatening injuries to any of the individuals involved. However, traffic congestion occurred and southbound traffic on 30th Avenue was closed for approximately 45 minutes,” according to Kearney Police.

According to KPD, a vehicle leaving the KHS parking lot and traveling west across 30th Avenue into the Berean Church parking lot was struck by a vehicle traveling south on 30th Avenue.

“Five occupants involved were taken by private car and ambulance to a local hospital to be checked for injuries. “Thank you to CHI Good Samartian Emergency Services and KVFD for their quick and professional response to the accident,” KPD stated.
