First headlines

· We’ll see a few showers later Friday, with the best potential of any organized showers and storms through Saturday.

· Tomorrow will be a first weather alert day with just enough potential for severe storms for the Midlands.

· A few isolated showers will continue into Sunday, with high temperatures reaching into the 70s.

· Another dry weather pattern sets in next week.

Good morning! We actually got off to a nice start this morning with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 60s!

Later Friday we will see a few isolated showers from the west as another low pressure system approaches our region.

Saturday morning we will have upper 60s with highs reaching the lower 80s. There is a 50% chance of rain and storms if a low pressure system enters the region. This low will also be accompanied by a cold front, which poses a risk of severe weather for us. The NWS Storm Prediction Center is projecting a Level 2/5 risk for the first half of our weekend.

We continue to have a few scattered showers Sunday as the low pushes off the coast of the Carolinas.

Next week will likely see calmer weather and lots of sunshine, with highs rising well into the 80s.

First alarm forecast

Today: Scattered showers late in the day after cloud cover increases throughout the day. Highs around 83 degrees.

First alert weather day Saturday: Low 80s with a 50% chance of showers and storms during the day. Strong storms are possible.

Sunday: There will be occasional rain and temperatures will fall slightly. Highs near 77 degrees.

Monday: Lots of sunshine with high temperatures around 80 degrees.

Tuesday: Clouds and sunshine with highs in the mid 80s.
