One dead, children flown to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Va. — One person is dead and two children were flown to a hospital after a crash in Henry County, according to Virginia State Police.

On Saturday around 7:10 p.m., 52-year-old Gregory Lee Myers of Martinsville was traveling west on Route 641 on the Joseph Martin Highway in a Nissan Frontier when a Dodge Ram 3500 traveling east crossed the center line and crashed beat him, authorities said.

Myers was taken to SOVAH Health in Martinsville, where he later died.

The driver of the Ram, a 32-year-old, was also injured and taken to the hospital. Two passengers, a 5-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, were properly secured in child safety seats and flown to Roanoke Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Charges are currently pending.

The crash is still under investigation.
