Teen killed in pre-Mardi Gras shooting at Concord Mall in Delaware – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Delaware are investigating after a teenager was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting outside the Concord Mall in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday evening.

According to Delaware State Police, officers responded to a shooting in the Concord Mall parking lot on the 4700 block of Concord Pike in Wilmington on Saturday evening around 10:45 p.m. and found two teenagers shot.

Officials said police began life-saving measures on both teens and they were immediately taken to nearby hospitals.

However, despite first responders’ efforts, officers said one 16-year-old – who police did not provide further identification information about – was arrested at the hospital, while the other, a 17-year-old, was taken to a hospital. According to police officials, the condition is “serious.”

According to state police, an investigation into the incident revealed that a fight likely occurred at the entrance to a carnival being held in the mall’s parking lot.

During the fight, officers say an unknown suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the two teens.

Officials said the suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, police said.
