NORTHOBORO, Mass. – A 16-year-old is dead and several have been injured following a shooting at a large party in Northboro.

Authorities say around 1 a.m. a partygoer flagged down an officer and reported someone brandishing a firearm at 333 Howard Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they heard several gunshots coming from inside the apartment building, where there were about 300 people.

A second male victim, a 17-year-old, was treated at Marlboro Hospital and released.

According to prosecutors, the responding officer described the scene as “chaotic” and officers found a 16-year-old male victim who was carried down the hill, transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Two other people were treated and released at Marlboro Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to prosecutors, several people who had visible injuries at the scene were treated but refused when officers asked to take them to the hospital.

Three people were arrested on firearms-related charges and will be arraigned Monday in Westboro District Court.

According to police, the house is on property with an Air BnB. Police are in contact with the owner and have been told there would be no party.

All three people arrested are not from Northboro, but are between 19 and 27 years old.
