'Delhi and Punjab government could not be toppled': Arvind Kejriwal attacks BJP

New Delhi:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday met his party MPs at his official residence for the first time after his release from Tihar Jail and criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the BJP’s plan to… AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab doomed to fail. Failed miserably.

“They couldn’t bring down the Delhi government. They couldn’t break our MLAs. They could not weaken the government of Punjab. Your entire plan has failed,” the Delhi chief minister said while addressing AAP lawmakers.

“I kept hearing about you all in Tihar Jail. I spoke to the staff and security guards at the prison. They kept me updated about every MLA Great job,” Kejriwal said.

He said Sunita Kejriwal, Delhi Ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann used to meet him and he inquired from them about the various works in Delhi.

“Before my arrest, BJP members met me. They told me that after my arrest they would break our party, bring down the Delhi government and definitely take AAP MLAs and Bhagwant Mann with them. But it turned out that…” “After my arrest, our party became much more united,” he said.

He said that the entire political narrative of the country was against the AAP party but since the party members stood together, they could not weaken the party.

“The biggest congratulations go out to all of you. I also learned that they tried to contact you and break you in every possible way. But you all stood firm,” the Delhi chief minister told the MLAs.

He also informed his MLAs that he would have to go back to jail on June 2 and that they should all take care of the party once he was back in jail.

On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was in Tihar Jail in the alleged excise fraud case, was released on interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court, 40 days after he was granted interim bail.
