5 people arrested for search of Ontario Mills shopping center

Five suspects were arrested after fleeing the Ontario Mills shopping center with items worth thousands of dollars.

On May 8, Ontario Police responded to reports of a group of masked robbers who had run into the Polo Ralph Lauren store near the mall’s south entrance.

Security video showed the armed suspects, wearing white masks and dark clothing, ransacking the store and taking as much merchandise as they could hold.

The suspects then fled the store in a getaway car before police could arrive. They fled with about $5,000 worth of merchandise, police said.

Authorities gathered information about the getaway car and determined that the vehicle was related to a theft that Montclair police were also investigating.

A search warrant was served at a suspect’s home where all of the stolen merchandise was located. Police also found three firearms in the house, one of which was stolen.

A total of five suspects were arrested and brought to court for numerous crimes. Her identity has not been revealed.

“We are committed to serving and protecting our community,” Ontario Police said. “We will continue to provide our officers with all available resources to deter and arrest criminals who commit crimes in the city of Ontario. “
