Investigations into the shooting on New Castle Avenue are ongoing

NEW CASTLE, ENG – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night on New Castle Avenue. The incident, which occurred around 10:53 p.m. on July 20, involved two Wilmington residents.

An 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were bicycling north on New Castle Avenue when the shooting occurred. The two crossed the street from the east side to the west side near the Spice N’ Nice restaurant. While crossing, the older teen was shot and then fled on foot while the younger one continued to ride.

The 18-year-old was later taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities reported no other injuries from the incident. As of now, the shooters are still unidentified and there is no video or photo evidence to help the investigation.

  • Shooting near Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh leaves one injured

    RALEIGH, NC — One person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in a residential area near Lake Boone Trail. Raleigh police were called to the scene in the 2400 block of Wesvill Court around 1:56 a.m. after reports of shots fired.

    Upon arrival, officers found a person with a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital and the injuries were not life-threatening. No arrests have been made at this time and the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation.

    The case is still ongoing and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.

  • Woman seriously injured in early morning shooting in Whitehaven

    MEMPHIS, TN — A shooting in the Whitehaven area early Sunday morning left a woman seriously injured. Memphis police responded to the incident on Neely Road just before 4:40 a.m.

    Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where she is in critical condition. There is currently no information on the suspect as the investigation is ongoing.

    Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

  • Mass shooting in Indianola leaves three dead and over a dozen injured

    INDIANA, MS — A devastating mass shooting on Church Street early Sunday morning left three 19-year-old men dead, including a recent Gentry High School graduate. The incident occurred just after 12:50 a.m. and claimed the lives of Areon Butler, Cameron Lee Butts and Marquette Baites.

    Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton and Indianola police confirmed details of the tragedy to The Enterprise-Tocsin. Butler, a class of 2024 graduate, died at the scene, while Butts and Baites, both of Greenville, were also pronounced dead.

    The shooting also left up to 13 other people injured, either directly from gunfire or from ricocheting bullets. The public is in shock as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of this horrific event.
