One adult died and two children were injured in a collision between a car and a pedestrian

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – A fatal car-pedestrian collision in Berkeley County left one adult dead and two children injured Friday night.

According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the accident occurred on July 19 at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Forty-One Road near Spider Lane, three kilometers south of St. Stephen.


According to state police, three pedestrians were struck by a 1996 GMC pickup truck while traveling on the road.

An adult pedestrian died at the scene. Two children were injured and taken to MUSC Downtown for treatment.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
