Pindi police report suspects for rape and extortion

The suspects also took obscene videos and photos to blackmail the girl with the promise of marrying her

RAWALPINDI:

Police have filed charges against two men for allegedly raping, blackmailing and promising marriage to a girl for over a year and a half on the premises of Mandra police station.

They added that the suspects also made obscene videos and photos to blackmail the girl. Police launched the investigation after the victim’s mother filed a complaint. She alleged that the first accused, Haroon, had a sexual relationship with her daughter for a year and promised to marry her. Later, he got into an argument with her, broke off the relationship and started blackmailing her with obscene videos and photos when she refused to reconcile.

Subsequently, the second accused, Siraj, allegedly raped her for six months under the same false promise of marriage. He also took away her mobile phone and took obscene videos and photographs. Siraj threatened her daughter with severe consequences through his Dubai-based friend Arsalan. The accused even hung obscene videos and photographs of the girl on the outside wall of the neighbouring house and distributed them to her friends and relatives, ruining her life even further.

Based on the mother’s complaint, the police have filed a case against her, which includes rape, death threats and other criminal offenses. The victim is currently undergoing a medical examination and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
