Disgusting Scottish paedophile dies in prison after series of vicious rapes

The death in custody of a vicious Scottish pensioner who raped two young girls is to be investigated as part of a Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI).

David Ferguson, 67, was jailed at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in 2015 after being found guilty of a series of sexual abuse offences. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for his campaign of abuse against two girls.

In August 2021, while incarcerated at HMP Edinburgh, the Beast was sentenced to a further ten years for sexually abusing two more victims – one a teenager, the other a child. In a trial at Edinburgh’s High Court, he was found guilty of three sexual offences, including rape and attempted murder, committed in Fife between October 1988 and August 2010.

The first rape took place in a house in Ballingry when he attacked a sleeping victim. He then attacked and harassed the woman again at a property in Cowdenbeath.

The second victim was only six or seven years old when the sexual abuse began. Ferguson died on June 4, 2022, while serving his prison sentence.

It is believed he died in hospital. A Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) will now be held, with a preliminary hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on August 28.

The purpose of an FAI is to establish the cause of death, the circumstances in which the deaths occurred and to determine what reasonable precautions (if any) could have been taken and could be implemented in the future to minimise the risk of future deaths in similar circumstances.

FAIs are inquisitorial in nature and are used to establish facts rather than assign blame.
