Man killed in stabbing on Grayledge Drive in Austin identified

According to police, a suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Department (APD) has determined the identity of a man killed in a homicide in northeast Austin on Friday, July 12.

According to APD, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 8200 block of Grayledge Drive around 4 a.m. The 911 caller said someone had been stabbed and a suspect fled the scene.

When Austin-Travis County EMS officers and paramedics arrived, they found the body of 31-year-old Edgar Yudiel Granados, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to APD, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were on site to search the scene and interview witnesses.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 512-974-TIPS or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at austincrimestoppers.org or by phone at 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.

This case will be investigated as the 33rd murder case in Austin in 2024.
