President Joe Biden issues statement on incident at Trump rally

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – President Joe Biden has released a statement following the shooting at a Trump rally.

I was informed about the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.

I am thankful to hear that he is well and safe. I am praying for him and his family and everyone who attended the rally as we await further information.

Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as a nation to condemn it.

Vice President Kamala Harris also released a statement.

I was informed of the shooting at former President Trump’s event in Pennsylvania.

Doug and I are relieved that he is not seriously injured.

We pray for him, his family, and all those injured or affected by this senseless shooting. We are grateful to U.S. Secret Service, emergency responders, and local authorities for their immediate response.

There is no place for violence like this in our country. We must all condemn this heinous act and do our part to ensure that it does not lead to further violence.
