First-degree murder charges filed in connection with Morgan County death investigation – News/Talk KRMS

A 50-year-old Stover man has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the recent discovery of a body in Morgan County.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office identifies Chad Lawrence Armstrong as a suspect.

According to the probable cause information, Armstrong was in communication with the victim, Beauford Wilson of Hallsville, who communicated about the possible sale of Armstrong’s property. Wilson’s body was then discovered with gunshot wounds a short distance away on Beechnut Road near Stover.

The investigation began with Armstrong’s arrest and detention on Friday. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
