CHRIS 180, a growing mental health training program, launches in metro Atlanta – WABE

CHRIS 180, a nonprofit organization providing trauma-informed behavioral health services and wraparound support, is expanding its in-person and virtual training program to seven Southeastern states, including Georgia.

The various courses are designed to help parents, teachers, social service professionals and licensed therapists better recognize and treat a range of mental health and social issues, according to a news release.

“Our goal with these courses is to provide caregivers with the tools they need to provide the best care to their patients and clients,” said Anne Connell, Clinical Director at CHRIS 180. “By providing world-class training, we can support those in mental health crisis and provide the best foundation for those in the caregiver role.”

Courses offered cover trauma, self-care, sexuality, program management, supervision, and trauma-informed leadership. The challenges facing children and adults are constantly evolving, and these courses offer “leading practices” in their fields.

Many courses count toward continuing education for participants who need training hours. Other courses provide training on topics critical to mental health caregivers or program managers.

— Other management courses include grant management, grant writing, and preventing burnout.
