Woman found shot in Sacramento home

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead with at least one gunshot wound in a Sacramento home.

Sacramento police said officers were called to a 911 call at 3100 Northstead Drive just before 10 a.m. Arriving officers found the woman, who was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide and crime scene investigators took over the investigation due to the circumstances. What led to the shooting and what circumstances accompanied it are unclear.

The victim has not yet been identified and no suspects have been arrested.
