On the night of July 6, drone attacks were reported from the Russian region of Krasnodar, causing large fires in two oil depots.

Russian state-controlled news media RIA Novosti later claimed on July 6 that fragments of a downed drone caused a fire in a fuel tank in the village of Pavlov, as well as another fire at an oil depot in the Leningrad municipality.

On July 7, a law enforcement source told the Kyiv Independent that Ukrainian drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) were behind the attack on the Russian Lukoil-Yugnefteproduct.

“Yesterday, the Russians were unable to extinguish the massive fire that broke out as a result of a night drone attack on the oil depot near the Pavlov community in Krasnodar region,” the source said. “After two explosions, a massive fire broke out in two tanks for petroleum products.”

SBU drones also triggered a series of explosions on the site of the Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt oil depot in the Leningrad municipality, damaging at least three fuel tanks, the source said.

During the night, several drone attacks were reported from the communities of Eisk, Leningrad and Pavlov in the Krasnodar region.

According to reports, a cell phone tower in the village of Eisk was also damaged by the shooting down of another drone.

In recent months, Ukrainian forces have launched a series of drone strikes aimed at damaging Russia’s oil industry, whose profits fund Moscow’s war effort.

Earlier, a law enforcement source also told the Kyiv Independent on July 7 that Ukrainian drones controlled by the SBU had attacked a large ammunition depot in the village of Sergeyevka in Voronezh Oblast.

“In an area of nine square kilometers, the enemy stored surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, shells for tanks and artillery, and boxes of ammunition for firearms,” the source said.
