Fatal accident in Lindenhurst: Police report two dead and two seriously injured in fiery car accident

LINDENHURST, Ill. (WLS) – 2 dead and 2 seriously injured in fiery car accident in Lindenhurst, police say

Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in a fire accident in the northern suburb of Lindenhurst.

According to police, the accident occurred Friday evening around 11:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue.

Investigators said a vehicle traveling east on Grand Avenue left the road and struck a tree.

When officers arrived, they found the car engulfed in flames with four people trapped inside, police said.

The Lake Villa fire department arrived on scene and was able to extinguish the fire.

Paramedics took two people in critical condition from the vehicle to the hospital. The other two people died at the scene of the accident.

The Lindenhurst Police Department is investigating this incident in conjunction with the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT).
