One person killed in shooting near E. 69th Terrace, Brooklyn Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Kansas City police are investigating after one person was killed in a shooting Thursday afternoon.

The shooting was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the area of ​​E. 69th Terrace and Brooklyn Avenue, just east of the Paseo.


When officers arrived on scene, they found an unconscious man on the sidewalk in front of a residential building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to KCPD, preliminary investigations indicate that the victim came into contact with one or more unknown suspects at the scene, which resulted in gunshots being fired and the victim being struck. The suspect(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Detectives continue to work at the crime scene, searching for evidence and witnesses.
