Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Named MVP2 by NFL Analyst

Deductive reasoning says that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the second most valuable player in the NFL.

Analyst Chad Reuter ran a seven-round mock draft involving active players, with teams using a “win-now” approach to their selections. The results are based on “the players’ expected performance on the field in 2024,” and Allen is the No. 2 overall pick.

In the mock scenario, the Washington Commanders selected Allen, 28, one pick after the Carolina Panthers selected three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes first overall.

The first 14 picks were all used on quarterbacks. Defensive end Myles Garrett stopped the race on field generals at No. 15.

“Allen has the skills to dethrone Mahomes from the top spot, but the Lombardi Trophy continues to elude him. In fact, he has yet to appear in a Super Bowl, with the Bills exiting the last three playoff series in the divisional round,” Reuter said in justifying the Bills’ QB1 ranking at No. 2 overall on the mock draft board.

Allen, a three-time MVP finalist, is the only NFL player to throw for 40-plus touchdowns four straight years. The two-time point guard has 21 touchdown passes and just four interceptions over a 10-game postseason.

The Bills have won the last three regular-season meetings against Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, but the latter have directly eliminated the former from the playoffs three of the last four years.

In a 27-24 home loss in the divisional round last January, Allen threw three touchdowns and committed no turnovers.
