Five arrested for raping minor girl in Udalguri, Assam

Guwahati, June 24 (SocialNews.XYZ) At least five people were arrested in Assam’s Udalguri district for allegedly raping a minor girl who was returning from school classes, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred in Majbat area of ​​Udalguri district.

According to police, the minor girl was returning from a coaching centre on Saturday evening when one of the accused offered her a ride on his motorbike. However, he and his four accomplices took the victim to a brick kiln where she was allegedly raped by all of them in turns.

Meanwhile, locals angry over the incident set fire to the house of an accused on Monday. The district administration has deployed paramilitary forces to prevent further incidents in the area.

Assam DGP GP Singh ordered an inquiry into the entire incident. Further investigations are underway.
