Child hospitalized after near-drowning accident in Oklahoma City

A 4-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday night after nearly drowning, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the pool of a residential building in southeast Oklahoma City, authorities said.

Authorities said they received a call around 5:30 p.m. about a person in a swimming pool who was not breathing.

When rescue workers arrived on the scene, they said they found a four-year-old boy who needed help.

The child was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital, authorities said. He is expected to be OK, authorities said.
