A New Hampshire man is in critical condition after an incident with police on Tuesday

According to police, the man appeared desperate and threatened to harm himself with a weapon.

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Hinsdale Police responded to a home where a 37-year-old man was distressed, barricaded himself, and threatened to shoot himself. This is the same home where a toddler drowned in the pool one day prior to this incident. Hinsdale Police reported that multiple shots were fired during this incident. Eventually, the man shot himself and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. At the time of this report, the man was in critical condition. Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene Tuesday. Brattleboro Police, Cheshire County Sheriffs, Keene Police, Winchester Police, New Hampshire State Police and SWAT team, as well as Greenfield, Massachusetts Police and Hinsdale Fire and EMS assisted in responding to this incident.
