Kimberley RCMP revokes two drivers’ licences for speeding

The Kimberley RCMP detachment recently stopped two vehicles for speeding on Highway 95A south of Marysville.

The Kimberley RCMP detachment recently stopped two vehicles for speeding on Highway 95A south of Marysville.

The first driver was stopped on June 14 for driving at 196 km/h, the other, stopped on June 17, was driving at 152 km/h. Both drivers were driving at this speed in a 100 km/h zone.

“The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of Kimberley is urging drivers to slow down. In areas where high-risk driving is reported, enforcement will continue,” said Sergeant Steve Woodcox in a June 18 news release.

The drivers were aged 18 and 85 and each received a ticket and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
