Extreme heat in Connecticut from Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for northern Fairfield County and New Haven County from noon Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A heat advisory is in effect for Litchfield County from noon Tuesday to 8 p.m. Thursday.


WHAT’S NEW: Meteorologist Radek Przygodzki from the Storm Watch Team says the first heatwave of the season will begin on Tuesday. It will get hotter every day this week, with temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees.


WHAT’S NEXT: Foggy, hot and humid conditions will persist through Friday. Humidity will push heat index readings to over 100 degrees or even higher. Take necessary heat precautions. There is little relief on the coast either, a dip in the straits may be the best solution.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny. Hazy, hot, humid. Highs around 91 degrees.

THURSDAY: Sunny. Hazy, hot, humid. Highs around 92 degrees.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Hazy, hot, humid. Thunderstorms possible. Highs around 95 degrees.


WEEKEND: Rain and storms. Maximum temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees.
