Norman Reedus and the cast of “The Walking Dead” pay loving tribute to Dog after his death: “Best TV buddy ever”

The animal actor Seven played Daryl Dixon’s companion in the series.

The cast of the TV The Walking Dead mourns the death of Seven, the animal actor who played Dog, Daryl’s four-legged companion.

After the sad news was announced on AMC’s fan favorite’s official account on Thursday – which simply read, “Rest in peace, Seven. The best boy on #TWD” – those involved with the show sent their regards.

Lynn Collins, who played Leah, and Khary Payton (Ezekiel) left their love, as did Sabrina Gennarino, whose role was Tamiel, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who worked as an actress on the show and as the host of the Talking Death After show.

Angela Kang, the last showrunner behind the series, which aired on AMC from 2010 to 2022, reposted the show’s account announcement, adding “RIP Seven” alongside a crying face.

Reedus had requested that his character on the show – which also starred Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Steven Yeun and Melissa McBride – be allowed to have a dog for a while before the dog actually got it in the show’s ninth season. Daryl adopted Dog after his original owner, Daryl’s lover Leah, abandoned him.

According to ComicBook.com, Reedus raved about working with Seven in 2018.

“We shot a scene the other day that ended up being the opposite of what it was supposed to be because the dog just wanted to do something different, and it turned out so much better,” Reedus told the outlet. “He’s probably going to run the show. It’s great! I love it. He loves me too.”
