Person found dead after house fire in Long Beach

On Monday, a dead person was found in a burned-out house in Long Beach.

According to Captain Jack Crabtree of the Long Beach Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the 2400 block of Fashion Avenue around 7:30 p.m. after learning of the fire.

When they arrived, they found the one-story house with heavy smoke and fire.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, they entered the house and found a dead person inside.

Her identity has not yet been released due to ongoing investigations. Firefighters believe she is an elderly person.

No further injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still unclear.
