BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Significant traffic issues are expected on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach on Monday as unexpected construction will result in lane and street closures through Wednesday. Drivers on Sunday are asked to consider alternate routes when traveling through the area for the next few days.

Palm Beach County issued the following statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

“Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works (EPW) is notifying the public of an extended lane closure of the southbound left and center through lanes on N. Congress Avenue, approximately 200 feet north of Boynton Beach Boulevard (SR 804) at the LWDD L-24 canal.

Due to ongoing construction, these lanes are closed and traffic will be reduced to a single southbound lane on N. Congress Avenue. This lane closure is expected to remain in place through Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Our Traffic Division staff have adjusted the traffic signal patterns in this area during the duration of this lane closure to improve traffic flow.

To ensure the safety of our workers and passengers, EPW urges the public to exercise caution and drive safely through the construction site during the road closure.”
