Child molester arrested for multiple assaults

A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of sexual offenses, including the rape of a child.

Kieran Huthwaite, 31, of Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent, was reported to police and arrested in November 2021.

At the end of January, he was found guilty of six counts of sexual abuse at Stoke-on-Trent Crown.

He was sentenced on Tuesday and also received an indefinite restraining order to prevent sexual violence and lifelong registration on the sex offenders’ register.

Det Con Tiffany Berry, who worked on the case, said: “We were able to convict Huthwaite of his crimes because the survivors showed tremendous courage and bravery by coming forward and reporting the incidents.”

Huthwaite was found guilty:

• two cases of physical assault on a girl under 13 years of age

• Rape of a girl under 16

• attempted rape of a girl over 16

• sexual abuse of a girl under 13

• sexual abuse of a girl over 16

Det Con Berry added: “We are here to support anyone who has suffered sexual abuse. We have a team of specialist officers who can investigate these cases with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice.”
