1 dead after nighttime accident involving articulated lorry in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Virginia (WAVY) – One person is dead after an overnight car crash in Suffolk.

It happened just before 3 a.m. in the 4400 block of Holland Road. Emergency crews initially responded to reports of a downed power line that had caused a brush fire.


However, when emergency services arrived, they found that a semi-trailer truck had left the road and the cargo container it was carrying was on fire.

According to official reports, one person died in the crash.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Suffolk Police and Fire Commissioner’s Office.
