Bissouma’s luxury watch stolen in attack in Cannes

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma had his luxury watch stolen by two attackers on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Malian international was with his wife outside a hotel in Cannes on the French Riviera when the attack occurred at around 4:00 a.m. local time (3:00 a.m. BST).

Bissouma was on his way back to his hotel when two masked men attacked him with tear gas and took his watch, worth 300,000 euros (£255,000), before fleeing, his lawyer Bastien Caire confirmed, according to media reports.

Caire declined to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.

In a statement, Tottenham said: “We are aware of the incident and will continue to monitor the wellbeing of Yves and his family.”

Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton in the summer of 2022 for £25 million plus add-ons.

Last season he made 28 appearances for the club, which finished fifth in the Premier League and qualified for the Europa League.
