Man found shot to death in Salt Lake City; 16 year old girl arrested

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old man injured Tuesday afternoon. They say they took a 16-year-old girl into custody.

Police said officers responded to a report of a person with a gunshot wound at an apartment near 750 N. 900 West around 3:15 p.m. Officers on scene discovered a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg and provided medical treatment.

The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police said a 16-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and believe the shooting may have been related to domestic violence. When they were arrested, officers found a loaded firearm, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
