MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man accused of drowning his roommate’s cat.

On May 21, officials received a call from the Animal Emergency Center on Summer Avenue.

According to the affidavit, a cat named Gata was taken to the hospital after the owner was alerted by his roommate.

Officials said roommate Stoniquco Smith called the owner and told him the cat was seriously injured.
