Chikkaballapur (Karnataka) (India), May 28 (ANI): The Karnataka Police on Tuesday arrested a school principal for allegedly molesting a Class 7 student, an official said.
The accused has been identified as G Venkatesh, headmaster of a public school in Chikkaballapur district, Shidlaghatta, who is accused of raping a Class 7 student of his school.
The incident came to light when the student’s parents noticed that she had not had her menstruation for five months. Concerned, they took her to a doctor for a check-up, only to find out that she was three months pregnant. When questioned, the student stated that Venkatesh, the school principal, had been sexually abusing her in the school office for the past six months. Despite her protests, the abuse continued, police said.

An official said the police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 376 of the IPC against the accused Venkatesh and taken him into custody.
