Man convicted of sending ‘sexually charged, obscene’ text messages to Wantagh teenager

Andrew Quattrone, 41, of Manorville, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for texting the Wantagh teen on Tuesday, May 7, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.

Late on the night of January 20, 2022, a 16-year-old girl received a sexually explicit text message from Quattrone on her phone that included a graphic image.

He continued to send her such messages, prosecutors said, before agreeing to meet with the teen the next day.

On the evening of January 21, 2022, Quattrone met with the girl and asked her to get into his car. When the teenager approached him with two of her friends, he instead fled the scene.

Quattrone was arrested the next day in Bayshore.

“Andrew Quattrone sent sexually charged, obscene messages to a sixteen-year-old victim late at night and drove out the next day to meet her in person. When the victim showed up with two male friends, Quattrone fled,” said prosecutor Anne T. Donnelly.

“However, he was unable to evade prosecution and will now spend years in prison for his despicable behavior.”

Quattrone pleaded guilty in November 2023:

  • Dissemination of offensive content to first and second degree minors;
  • Distributing offensive content to minors is considered a sexually motivated crime; And
  • Endangering the welfare of the child.

In addition to his sentence, Quattrone faces eight years in prison upon his release and a stay away or protective order was issued on behalf of the teen victim.

He must also register as a sex offender.
